Painting for me is feeling a connection and a sharing with others. Many of my paintings are of places that I have explored along with my family, returned to, become intimately acquainted with and loved over time.
After leaving school with my A level Art, my creative aspirations were dampened by having to take on anything that would give me a reliable income. I occasionally painted a watercolour when with my family vacations in Cornwall. This kept the threads of my creative spirit alive until my retirement.
I came across BAS about two years ago and was met immediately with a warm welcome. Becoming an active member has introduced me first hand to like minded artists, new materials and different aspects of the art world. Currently I am exploring digital watercolour as well as traditional watercolour.

I particularly admire your use of colour, which makes the paintings very arresting.
Excellent studies in watercolour Paul – do you do any still lives?
